Mossberg began working as an engineer for firearms manufacturers in the United States after emigrating from Sweden in 1886, and decided to launch his own company a full 33 years later after mastering his craft. The first firearm he sold was called the ‘Brownie,’ a four-shot .22 pocket pistol that made use of Mossberg^®’s rotating fire pin design. It was a commercial success. Mossberg^®’s sons (also key to the brand’s history as gunsmiths in their own right) attributed the Brownie’s popularity to its reputation for being exceptional value for money- inexpensive and reliable. This auto-loading shotgun is perfect from the inside out. The interior’s durable gas system (allowing for up to 1500 rounds between cleanings) and corrosion-resistant nickel boron-coated piston, magazine tube, and hammer/sear operate seamlessly with its smoother anodised follower and elongated elevator. The outside features a user-adjustable stock that allows for a full 1.25″ of LOP flexibility and a front fibre optic sight to keep your aim true.

12 Bore Pump Action that Won’t Quit

The 590 Mariner is built to military-spec standards, an elite machine known for its endurance like the Marines who inspired its name.
